How Does Coronavirus Really Spread? (Pt 3)

  • Gatherings – Outside the house, coronavirus infection risk is highest in highly enclosed environments with poor air circulation and high people density.
  • Examples: Nursing homes, Religious Ceremonies, Workplaces.
  • Surprising – Grocery stores and outdoor spaces (eg parks) aren’t as dangerous (large volume space, short visits).
  • Why? – To get infected by someone outdoors, you would need to spend 5+ minutes in their air space.
  • 90% of all transmissions derived from the home, workplace, public transportation, social gatherings and restaurants.
  • Safety First – During re-openings, it remains important to maintain vigilant hand-washing and mask-wearing.
