  • Responsible for the recent US Colonial Pipeline attack, DarkSide offers “ransomware as a service” by providing hackers with technical customer support and ransom payment (eg crypto) negotiation and processing (charges 10-25% ransom collection fee).
  • 15 of the largest cybergangs are based in Russia, who’s government refuses to prosecute hackers targeting foreign entities.
  • Since October (2020), DarkSide and its affiliates have received over $90M in total ransoms.
