Washington Post (04/05/2022)
  • Wyoming’s registered agents, or individuals who act as public representatives for businesses and trusts, are facing increasing scrutiny.
  • Over the last decade, the number of Wyoming LLCs has soared from about 4,200 to over 220,000.
  • Wyoming has attracted businesses by not requiring LLC owners to identify themselves.
  • A recent extensive study by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) found that registered agents of Wyoming LLC’s have unknowingly helped shield criminals and tax evaders.
  • Many of these agents have no clue who they’re representing.
