The 3% of scientific papers that deny climate change are all flawed

Quartz (09/05/2017)
  • Researchers recently tried replicating the results of climate change reports that claim global warming doesn’t exist.
  • Katherine Hayhoe (atmospheric scientist, Texas Tech) found that “every single one of those analyses had an error—in their assumptions, methodology, or analysis—that, when corrected, brought their results into line with the scientific consensus”.
  • The three main errors in the climate change denying reports were cherry-picking results to support conclusions, “curve fitting” (stepping away from data until points match on curve), and ignoring basic physics.
